Amplium encoded READY TO RACE, a film in Apple Immersive Video for Ford France, to play on Apple Vision Pro at the Paris Motor Show. Made by Paris creative production studio altitude.101, the four-minute film puts viewers on the trail with Stéphane Tempier and Alix André-Gallis of the Decathlon Ford Racing Team as they race down the high-mountain trails of Superdévoluy, in the French Alps. It plays at Ford France's stand in Hall 5.3 from October 12 to 18, 2026.

What altitude.101 asked for

Antoine Baille, who directed READY TO RACE and leads image post-production at altitude.101, wanted the film to look on Apple Vision Pro the way it looks in the studio's ProRes master, from the first shot to the last.

For this project, altitude.101 put image quality ahead of file size, with the aim of keeping the fine texture of gravel, rock, and grass on the trail. The film plays from the headset itself, so the bitrate could stay high as long as Apple Vision Pro played it smoothly. For the planned week of playback at the booth, the studio also asked Amplium to keep the bitrate peaks in check.

How Amplium encoded it

Amplium encoded the ProRes master to 10-bit MV-HEVC, the codec behind Apple Immersive Video, using quality-focused settings with a bitrate limit to keep the peaks in check. The aim was to keep the color and texture of the ProRes master as faithfully as possible. The film runs at 90 frames per second and combines footage from the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive and the Canon EOS R5 C.

In their words

Amplium has the absolute best encoder for Apple Immersive Video, and it's not even close. Whether it's reducing file size while retaining quality or pushing fidelity as close to the original as possible, they can do it all.
